A structured Slot Duty Manager role is critical to the success of the River Cree Resort & Casino. The primary purpose of the Slot Duty Manager is to help oversee the general operation and effectiveness of the slot department and demonstrate broad understanding and knowledge of all details of the River Cree Resort & Casino slot operation. This includes working to promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to all guests, associates, and AGLC personnel. Ensure the Slot Department is operating efficiently in all areas and is effective in driving profitability.


The Schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays. 


  • Responsible for the daily operations of the slot department
  • Follow procedures and controls for effective and secure cash flow (float assignment, cash slip reconciliation, etc).
  • Keep up-to-date on mechanics of slot machines to coach and train others.
  • Maintain a working relationship with the AGLC.
  • Follow payout protocols (signing authority).
  • Hire, train, schedule and mentor a team of between 35-40 individuals for slot department areas
  • A minimum of 70% of the Slot Duty Manager’s time is spent on the casino floor with guests and associates.
  • Maintain high levels of customer and associate satisfaction. The Slot Duty Manager is expected to maintain a service score of 75% or higher on all quarterly mystery shops.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of policies and procedures in slot department
  • Ensure slots are in compliance with AGLC - T&Cs.
  • Participate in the Manager on Duty Program.

  • Develop and mentor the slot associates (Slot Cashiers and Slot Attendants) as well as the Count Team
  • Providing support and motivation to all slot positions
  • Ensure proper implementation of established procedures and controls for effective and secure cash flow
  • Ensure proper implementation of established policies and procedures pertaining to the Slot Floor and Slot Cage
  • Assist in the execution of the slot associates entry to exit process for the department (recruitment, hiring, evaluations, etc…)
  • Ensure all slot operations are in compliance with AGLC Terms and Conditions
  • Monitor and report risk and safety concerns to ensure a safe environment for both associates and guests
  • Support and communicate between all applicable departments associated with the Casino gaming floor
  • Responsible for the daily execution of operational goals and objectives providing input on ways to grow the business increasing revenue opportunities
  • Provide feedback on departmental/resort events and initiatives from a guest perspective
  • Participate and assist in the implementation of action plans resulting from business plans, associate surveys, guest surveys, consultant feedback etc.
  • Gain an extensive knowledge of the Casino’s Players Club
  • Participate in meetings internal and external to our operation to gain consistency in communication and improve the overall guest experience within the resort
  • Ensuring that our operational goals are being met and our business philosophy is being incorporated
  • Being key performers in the area of customer retention and recovery
  • Ensure proper staff coverage to support the day-to-day operation of the Slot Department
  • Actively participates in the Scoring and Coaching of assigned programs
  • Maintain a AGLC gaming workers license
  • Uphold a team work appearance offering assistance where available or when requested
  • Ability to work under stress obtaining organization skills in time management
  • Other duties as required



  • 5-7 years experience in the casino/slot industry.
  • 3-5 years minimum demonstrated experience as a Slot Manager.
  • Previous Slot Manager experience is necessary
  • Casino financial and accounting background.
  • Expert knowledge of casino cash/slot cage policies and procedures.
  • Interpersonal Skills- Able to work well with internal and external guests.
  • Adaptability to Change- Able to adapt rules, behaviors, and procedures when deemed necessary by house or AGLC guidelines.
  • Leadership- Able to lead people at difference levels to reach department objectives.
  • Analytical Skills- Able to analyze and interpret reports.
  • Problem Solving- Can decipher changes that need to be made to move the department/organization to its desired goals.
  • Must be able to register with AGLC, if not currently registered.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered.
