  • Overview


    The Hotel Accountant, reporting to the Financial Controller, will be responsible for providing support and leadership to the finance department with a strong emphasis on accuracy and analysis and auditing. 


    • General ledger analysis and working papers.
    • Have a thorough understanding of financial reporting and General Ledger structure.
    • Internal auditing as required
    • Daily bank reconciliations.
    • Reconciliation of monthly Accounts Receivable invoices.
    • Daily Entry of Revenue and comps
    • Intercompany balances reconciliation.
    • Event and promotions post forma
    • Assist with Internal/external reporting requirements
    • Fixed Assets tracking and reconciliation.
    • Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations.
    • Preparation of governmental taxes.
    • Reconciliation of Prepaids, Accruals, and Unearned Revenue.
    • Provide support to external auditors and operating departments.
    • Assist with the timely and accurate production of financial statements.
    • Maintain records in compliance with current legal requirements.
    • Support the Hotel Sales & Events team to reconcile final invoices for clients.
    • Complete credit checks as required for direct billing requests.
    • Comfortable speaking with hotel clients as needed.
    • Attend any training that is required and approved by management.
    • Adhere to Resort health & safety policies at all times.
    • Any other duties as required by management.



    • Prior accounts payable and general ledger analysis experience is required.
    • Hotel Accounting Experience – 2 years strongly preferred
    • High School Diploma required
    • Degree or diploma required and should be working towards an accounting designation.
    • Experience with reviewing and developing internal control procedures
    • Excellent written and verbal skills.
    • Exemplary organization skills.
    • Ability to multi task in a fast paced deadline driven environment, works well under pressure.
    • Self-starter and comfortable working both in a team environment and independently.
    • Adaptable to change.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Detail oriented and a keen learner, with drive and ambition.
    • Proficient use of MS office applications, strong excel skills required.
    • Strong customer service skills.
