  • Overview

    A structured Server role is critical to serve prepared foods and drinks to Kitchen Bistro guests. The server will typically will spend the most time with guests during their stay at Kitchen Bistro.

    Reporting to the Hotel Sr. Operations Manager F & B, the Server will be responsible to collect food and drink orders from guests. This will include collecting special dining requests they may have. They will also assist guests to choose selections they would enjoy and answer questions regarding allergy alerts. He/she will bill and collect payment after meals from guests.


    • Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
    • Know and follow all company and local standard policies and procedures.
    • Know and follow all scheduling and call out procedures.
    • Ensure to use proper hand washing procedures and to maintain high standard of personal hygiene.
    • Ensure to maintain minimum clean and polished par stock for all china, silverware and glasses.
    • Ensure to follow daily/weekly side duties for server.
    • Know the menu and drinks being served. Be able to knowledgeably explain the major ingredients and preparation methods.
    • Participate in all required departmental meeting/training provided by the resort.
    • Attend daily pre-shift/daily stand up meeting.
    • Know and check your station (assigned area) to ensure all settings are clean, neat and in accordance with the restaurant standard.
    • Ensure to follow proper cash handling procedures.
    • Ensure to follow proper tip out policy.
    • Assist hostess/Supervisor to answer phone calls within three rings and seat the guests as they arrive.
    • Acknowledge and respond to all guests’ requests and complaints. You are empowered to act on any guest request or complaint if you feel competent to do so. All complaints should be passed to the supervisor on duty for follow up.
    • Ensure your tables and side stands (or any area you are responsible for) are kept clean and well maintained throughout your shift.
    • Maintain your work area and back areas in a clean and well-organized manner. All food items to be stored labeled and dated according to Serve Safe standards, in the appropriate fridges.
    • Closing servers will be responsible for a designated shift to ensure all side duties are completed according to the restaurant standard.
    • Any guest items left must be returned to the guest or given to Housekeeping.
    • Report to Restaurant Supervisor/Manager at end of the shift.
    • Other duties as required


    • Must have 1 year prior experience as a Restaurant Server
    • High school Diploma or equivalent preferred
    • AGLC- ProServe preferred
    • Mathematic Skills: Basic math may be needed to verify cash receipts.
    • Customer Service Skills: Servers need proper customer service skills as they have a lot of interaction with guests and must deal with a number of special requests.
    • Physical Coordination: The server must have the ability to move food trays effectively across the restaurant floor. Trays loaded with food may be as heavy as 15 lbs.
    • Communication Skills: Reading, writing, speaking, and listening are important for the server to communicate effectively to guests, kitchen staff, and food and beverage helpers.
    • Proven knowledge of proper serving etiquette.
    • Able to work as a part of a team.
    • Able to work with little supervision.
    • Ability to work calmly under pressure.

    The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.
