Overview

A structured Surveillance Operator III is critical to the success of the River Cree Resort & Casino. The primary purpose of the Surveillance Operator III is to monitor the activities of guests and associates on surveillance equipment.

Reporting to the Director of Surveillance & Compliance, the Surveillance Operator monitors the premises using electronic surveillance equipment and will report suspicious activities to the Surveillance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Protects the safety of patrons and staff;
  • Protects the assets of the property;
  • Protects the confidentiality of the department;
  • Completes routine surveillance of the gaming floor identifying potential problems, such as poor game protection, suspicious individuals and/or activity, and acting as a support unit to other departments in relation to the protection of company assets.
  • Must have a strong understanding of AGLC Terms and Conditions and AGLC Gaming/Liquor Act
  • Maintains accurate logs of all procedure violations or completing reviews of all material that is pertinent to site operations.
  • Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to all patrons, employees and AGLC personnel.
  • Provide evidence in legal matters that have resulted from criminal charges against patrons or employees.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Complies with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identifies unsafe practices or conditions.
  • To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of gaming experience
  • Must know all Table Games offered at River Cree (Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette and Craps)
  • Must have strong understanding of Slot Networks
  • Knowledge of surveillance equipment and cheating/advantage play a definite asset.
  • Communication Skills: Must be adept in reading, writing and comprehension of the English language.
  • Manual Dexterity: The Surveillance Operator must have the dexterity to maneuver electronic surveillance equipment smoothly using a mouse or joystick.
  • Must have the ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • This type of work appeals to people who enjoy having clear rules and guidelines for their work, dealing with people from diverse backgrounds and controlling access to facilities.
  • Possess math skills to calculate the payouts and commissions relevant to appropriate table games.
  • Knowledge of cheating/advantage play a definite asset.
  • The candidate must be able to hold a registered gaming worker license as set out in the AGLCs Terms & Conditions.
  • Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to all patrons, employees and AGLC personnel.
  • Possesses detailed knowledge of casino table games such as blackjack, mini-baccarat, roulette and craps, slots, poker, cash/slot cage, and count room policies and procedures.

The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays. The Surveillance Operator III will be required to sit for most of his/her entire shift in a darkly lit room with several television/computer monitors.
