Overview

The main purpose of the job is to support and assist the responsible manager to maintain a safe and clean environment. The key role would be to upkeep the cleanliness of the Resort area to a high standard. Reporting to the Public Areas Manager, the Public Area Attendant will follow task lists that give direction to clean areas within the casino.  

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
  • Fill cart with supplies and transport cart to assigned area.
  • Vacuum carpets and corridors
  • Remove trash and empty all waste bins.
  • Empty ashtrays and other service items.
  • Clean glass and mirrors.
  • Sweep and mop floor surfaces.
  • Clean the bathroom and toilet.
  • Clean areas as assigned.
  • Ensure that rooms are odour free.
  • Report anything in need of repair or replacement to the appropriate person.
  • Keep cleaning areas and tidy at all time and cleaning materials safely stored.
  • Maintain polite and good communication with coworkers and customers at all times.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
  • Be prepared to receive and undertake further training as required by the center.
  • Turn in all lost and found items.
  • To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Customer Service Skills: Public Area Attendants need proper customer service skills.
  • Physical Coordination: The position requires physical, repetitive tasks to be completed including the following actions: move, lift, carry, push, pull, sit, bend, crouch, kneel and stand. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to work as a part of a team.
  • Able to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling. Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs.

The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.
