- 1-2 years in food and beverage service, banquet service, bar service
- Experience in Micros or another point of sale system an asset
- High School Graduate
- Alberta Server Intervention Program
- Winequest certified or equivalent required
- Proserve License an asset
- Strong communication skills (verbally, listening and writing)
- Fluent in English (oral and written), a second language is a definite asset
- Ability to carry food and beverage trays (approx 5-10 lbs)
- Basic knowledge in food, liquor, beer, and wine
- Basic knowledge of other hotel services, city attractions and local services
- Must have understanding in sanitation, hygiene and food handling procedures
- Good customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette
- High standard of personal grooming
- Ability to recognize our repeat guests
- Ability to work in a quick paced environment and be able to deliver services to our guests in a timely manner
- Mathematic Skills: Basic math may be needed to verify cash receipts.

- Physical Coordination: The server must have the ability to move food trays. Trays loaded with food may be as heavy as 20 lbs.
- Communication Skills: Reading, writing, speaking, and listening are important for the server to communicate effectively to guests, kitchen staff, and food and beverage helpers.
- Able to work as a part of a team.
- Able to work with little supervision.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.
