Overview

The Director of Information Technology (DOIT) will oversee the development, coordination, implementation and use of technology throughout the casino.  The DOIT will be responsible for all operational activities of the IT department as well as providing direction and support for IT solutions that enhance the casino's business operations. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephone, software applications and peripherals.
  • Provide expertise and support during system upgrades, installations, conversions and file maintenance.
  • Oversee systems development and enhancement and the integration of new systems with existing systems.
  • Establish and enforce security protocols to protect data and prevent cyber threats.
  • Work closely with Casino management to develop strategies and plans to enhance/improve user effectiveness and foster innovation.
  • Manage IT associates, including hiring, training, evaluation, guidance and performance management.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff and to end users.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements and documentation of modifications and upgrades.
  • Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions will meet business and system requirements.
  • Manage and prepare financial budgets and present proposals to executives and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement all IT policies/procedures via established IT Frameworks, including those for security and disaster recovery.
  • Manage telecommunications infrastructure throughout the casino.
  • To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
  • Work within established compliance teams on regulations that impact resort such as PCI-DSS, Privacy, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferred) in Information Systems Technologies , or related field
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience directing IT operations.
  • Must have experience as a Director of IT for mid to large size company.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development
  • Outstanding knowledge of PC operating systems, hardware, protocols and standards.
  • Experience with system design and development
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing IT strategies that are aligned with business directions and priorities.
  • In depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to IT
  • Ability to build effective relationships within the organization at all levels.
  • Able to handle unpredictable situations in a timely and diplomatic manner

The schedule for this position may require the availability to do shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.
