Reporting to Hell’s Kitchen General Manager, the Food Runner & Server Assistant plays a vital supporting role in delivering exceptional guest experience. This hybrid position ensures the timely and accurate delivery of food, maintains a clean and welcoming dining environment, and supports the service team by clearing and resetting tables, refilling supplies, and communicating effectively with both kitchen and service staff. The role upholds the high standards of the Hell’s Kitchen brand through teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to superior hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly deliver food from the kitchen to guests’ tables.
  • Ensure all orders are complete, accurate, and presented attractively.
  • Assist servers with clearing and resetting tables as needed.
  • Refill water glasses and replenish supplies at guest tables.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
  • Clean and reset tables after guests depart.
  • Support other food and beverage departments as directed by management.
  • Follow all Health and Safety requirements and look out for the safety of yourself and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience is an asset.
  • AGLC ProServe/Protect certification preferred.
  • Good health and personal hygiene.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience with reservation systems or POS software an asset.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with kitchen and service staff.
  • Able to handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing, and positive attitude.
  • Well-organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Pleasant, accommodating, and willing to go the extra mile for guests and team members.
  • Demonstrates initiative and willingness to learn.

The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Shift work and split shifts built around normal mealtimes are common.
  • Fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Meal breaks typically taken between busy serving times.
  • May be required to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Adherence to health, safety, and regulatory standards.
